OTAs, Online Travel Agents are the guys who’ve made my job easy over the last few years. I’ve not once had to advertise the holiday let, because all that work has been done by channel managers and multinational travel companies such as Booking dot com and Expedia. Easy for me, but at the cost of commission payments, and more importantly, with a loss of control over how my business is portrayed. So, this year, as we emerge post-Panny-D, I’m switching away from those big companies, using this new website to promote the accommodation direct to potential guests. And the benefit to those potential guests is? – lower prices! A better deal all round!
